Spring has sprung!

  • Math: Remembering page 148; review for Unit 6 test on Wednesday
  • Writing: Edit and proof one chapter for your book and write the final copy.
  • Reading: Sleepover projects due April 18. Sleepover night is April 25.
  • Social Studies: continue studying for the Midwest map test after break.
  • Science:continue working on science vocab cards, they will be due after break
A few students still need to turn in their music choice for 5th grade by this Wednesday.

We had a very busy afternoon of writing, but our non-fiction books are slowly coming along.

  • Math: no HW
  • Reading: final date for Olympic reading is Monday!!
  • Sleepover: 3 weeks from today all projects are due. Sleepover date: April 25
  • Return Social Studies tests signed.
  • Music choices for 5th grade returned Monday.
April is Autism Awareness month. Your child has a puzzle piece to complete over the weekend and return on Monday.

Whew! These days are flying...

  • Social Studies: Have SE Test signed and return to school.
  • Writing: All students should now have 3-4 chapters rough drafted. We will be writing final copies starting this Thursday.
  • Olympic Reading/Sleepover: Olympic reading ends Thursday. 4 weeks left for sleepover projects.
  • Words Their Way: study/sort for test on Friday
Tomorrow is our recorder concert at the high school. Don't forget the 2-hour delay tomorrow as well!

The kids helped me celebrate my birthday in style. We had a wonderful day.

Today we celebrated the International Day of Happiness! The sunshine sure helped!!

  • Math: no HW; we took a quick quiz
  • Soc.Studies: Midwest booklet will be handed out next week. The midwest map test will be after Spring Break.
  • Read for the Gold: Our class/country of Belgium has 14 gold medals. Final medal counts are due next Thursday. So READ, READ, READ!!!!!!!!
  • Writing: If you are behind, continue working on your chapter drafts for your informational book.
  • WTW: We took our spelling quizzes today.
What a great time we had at the drama club performance! Awesome job by all!

Happy Tuesday! Mrs. A here, writing my first blog (aka Mr.K). We're off to a great start. I'm positively loving the time I get to spend with your kids; hopefully you are getting the same report at home!

We had a busy day with the start of literacy specials again. Over the next four weeks all of the fourth graders will be moving through a series of reading/writing "crash courses" on tools good writers use.

Homework for today:
  • Math H+R p.131-132
  • Word Sorts (quiz on Friday)
  • Social Studies: Southwest Region Map Quiz on Friday
  • Sleepover Check-in: Keep reading! We are down to the final 6 weeks until the sleepover so encourage your kiddos to read, read, read!!!
