*Looking at the unit Test next FRIDAY NOW!

2.  Words Their Way tests tomorrow!

*parent teacher conference times went home tonight.  Contact Mr. K immediately if the time and date don't work.

Greetings one and all,

Here is the homework for a Monday night:

1.  Math:  JUST page 138 for ALL groups

*Tricky lesson today that I introduced to the kids.  Friday we were working on converting between Mixed Numbers and Improper Fractions, and show how they can be EQUIVALENT (you know...equal).

3 and 1/2 (mixed number) is the same as 7/2 (seven-halves)

Today we started talking about subtracting and adding MIXED numbers and borrowing and carrying with those.  We'll get more practice tomorrow, but they weren't ready to be independent today, so I help back on the homework.  Get ready to ask your kids about it tonight though.

2.  Reading:  BIG Westing Game week!

Wednesday:  Party/Test, Packet is due, and Quiz #3 is due!
*Books need to be turned in that day as well.

Thanks for getting all of the YELLOW conference forms in.  We meet Wednesday AM to schedule with other teachers and that conference time should be headed home to you all on Friday at the latest.

2.  Math:  pages 133 and 134 for tomorrow
*adding and subtracting fractions with LIKE denominators

3/6 + 2/6 = 5/6

Easy stuff!

3.  Reading:  Reminder that ALL Westing Game work has been moved to be due next week Wednesday!!!  Quiz #3 will be handed out tomorrow.

4.  Social Studies:  Midwest Region (Chapter 8) Test is Monday!!!

***29 days until the Reading Celebration goals are due***

Here is the homework for a Wednesday night:

1.  Reading:  Westing Game has been bumped back due to the Snow Days.

*Party/Final Test is now NEXT week Wednesday, that will also be the day the PACKET and QUIZ #3 are due.  The quiz has not even been handed out yet.  Several questions actually spoil the ending.  We should finish on Friday.

2.  Math:  pages 131 and 132 tonight due for Thursday.
*Adding fractions to make one whole!

3.  Words Their Way tests are Friday.

4.  Social Studies:  Midwest Map tests are tomorrow!!!

Well apparently March has come in like a LION!!!

The question is...which fractions is bigger?  2/5 or 3/4?
And...can you explain how I can figure this out?
