No new learning targets today...3 sessions of MEAP writing was about all we could handle.

THE KIDS DID A GREAT JOB!!

Homework for tonight:

1.  Science:  Moon logs are due tomorrow
2.  Panther Prowl $$$ due tomorrow
3.  Reading logs will be checked for the 1st time tomorrow.

Here are the Learning Targets for Wednesday:

1.  I will do my best on the MEAP
2.  I will use the "area" method to solve 2 digit by 1 digit multiplication problems
3.  I will use deeper levels of detail to become a better peer responder in writing

The homework for tonight:

1.  Math:  pages 35 and 36
2.  Reading logs are due FRIDAY!!!

Greetings one and all,

Here are today's learning targets:

MEAP:  I WILL do my best on the MEAP test.

Math:  I will find multiplication patters in 1's, 10's, and 100's numbers

Writing:  I will become a better peer responder in writing, by providing more specific details on how I feel a writer could improve.

Homework:

1.  Math:  pages 33 and 34
2.  Reading log (minimum of 20 minutes)

*Get a good night's rest for Day 2 of the MEAP!

Greetings one and all,

Here is something a little new...I will be adding today's main teaching ideas to our blog.  We call these "Learning Targets".  I write them on the board and the essence is that this is what they NEED to know from the lesson.  It's a great jumping off point for you as a parent if you wish to ask your kids what they LEARNED in school today.  They should be able to come close to these 2-4 key targets each day.

Monday's learning targets:

Math:  I will be able to understand how a number line is broken into pieces and label the amount each dot on the line with the correct amount.

Reading:  I will be able to identify the problem in a story, and explain the problem by adding details from the story.

Writing:  I will be able to explain the difference between editing my writing and revising my writing.

Homework on a Monday:

GET READY FOR MEAP Tomorrow!

*No math tonight.

Science:  Moon logs are due this Friday

*Purple Parent letter goes home
*Purple 4th grade sleepover information goes home
*If you have $$$ for the Panther Prowl it is due Friday.

Here is the homework for a Tuesday night:

1.  Math:  Get Unit 1 test back to me tomorrow (most came back but a few didn't)
*Homework:  pages 29 and 30

2.  Science:  Moon jourals (2) are due this week Friday again

3.  Social Studies:  Tests are going home tonight.  Again, please sign them and return them.

*Read for 20 minutes

*Panther Prowl forms are due Thursday, still trying to get everyone involved!!
